Advertisement of PhD positions
Two PhD positions are available from September 2017, within the research program on Hydrodynamic Limits and Equilibrium Fluctuations: universality from stochastic systems:

The candidate must have the master degree in Mathematics or Physics by the 1st September 2017, otherwise the candidate will be considered excluded from the competition.
Exceptional cases can be considered for students who do not have a master degree on those topics, but they should have the bachelor degree (also in one of those topics) by the 1st September 2017.
The duration of each PhD position is of 12 months (with possible extension up to 48 months).
The fellowships are funded by the European Research Council starting grant HyLEF of Patrícia Gonçalves.
The PhD fellows will be working in one of the following topics:
- Derivation of hydrodynamic limits
- Universality of the KPZ equation from microscopic systems
- Universality classes of systems with several conservation laws
at the Mathematics Department of Instituto Superior Técnico of the University of Lisbon:

The PhD fellow will receive a salary of 1200€ per month plus 150€ per month for insurance and financial support to attend conferences and workshops will be granted.
The application dossier consisting in:
1. a detailed curriculum vitae
2. copy of the official certificates of each academic degree
3. copy of the official certificates containing the marks of the courses of each degree

After the 1st evaluation, the candidates in the short list will have an interview by skype between 1st-10th March 2017.

Results
There were 10 complete applications and 5 of them were selected for the short list.
They are: Gianluca Ceruti, Jennifer Sorio, Leonardo Oliveira, Rodrigo Souza and Stefano Scotta.
The interview took place on the 7th of March with each one of the candidates on the short list.
On the 13th of March the jury had the final meeting to rank the candidates.
The final ranking is:

3º Gianluca Ceruti
4º Leonardo Oliveira
5º Jennifer Sorio.
